FREN Park is a proposed community destination for children and families in the Savannah region, with an initial focus on Richmond Hill and nearby Pooler. It responds to rapid growth in Richmond Hill and greater Bryan County, where family-centered civic spaces have not kept pace and where there is growing need for places that support after-school time, weekends, and everyday time together.

The project treats play as social infrastructure rather than a single attraction. Drawing from the Executive Summary, it combines traditional play with immersive technology and STEAM-based exploration so children can move, experiment, and learn through active, hands-on experience rather than passive entertainment.

Current plans describe a 22-acre site near I-95 with indoor and outdoor experiences that include activity fields, nature trails, adventure and explorer playgrounds, a splash pad, mini-golf, flexible exhibition spaces, a learning concourse, and rooms for camps, classes, events, and field trips. A courtyard, cafe, and bistro help the park function as a full-day destination for families.

FREN Park is also intended to serve as a community platform. Outreach programs, educational partnerships, youth internships, local events, and sponsored community days would allow the park to support families, schools, and neighborhood groups while advancing a larger goal: creating a healthier, brighter future for children through imagination, physical activity, and community connection.
