Adventures of Fren/ 2019

The "Adventures of Fren" series began as a collaboration between designers and medical professionals to support children navigating medical care. The core challenge was to create one story system that could meet different ages, conditions, and treatment paths without feeling rigid or clinical.

Over two years, the team developed and tested content through research, iteration, and multiple rounds of clinical feedback. The structure combined print books with interactive digital stories, and each module was designed to be introduced in different sequences based on a child's specific journey.

The result was a seven-book series that gives healthcare teams flexible ways to prepare children for procedures while keeping the experience approachable and age-aware. It became a practical resource for clinicians and a supportive storytelling tool for families.
